Welcome to San Francisco

Where to Stay in San Francisco

Downtown San Francisco is the cultural, financial, and travel hub of Northern California. With amazing restaurants, hotels, and things to do, San Francisco is an amazing city to visit. Below is a list of our favorite stays:

#1: Four Seasons

$$$$

As a true Downtown SF stay, The Four Seasons is just five minutes’ walk from Union Square, Yerba Buena Gardens, and many other restaurants, shops, and destinations. The Four Seasons has a full service spa, indoor lap pool, and a restaurant onsite. This is truly one of the most luxurious stays in San Francisco, and lands at our #1 spot.

#1: (Tie) The Fairmont

$$$$

Offering guests one, two, and three bedroom luxury residences, The Fairmont Heritage Place (Ghirardelli Square) is our tie for first place. The luxury experience is arguably better at The Four Seasons, but the location is certainly better at The Fairmont… which is why they are tied. Ghirardelli Square is home to the famous chocolate factory of the same name, restaurants, bars, and the hotel has views of the bay and park.

#2: Grand Hyatt

$$$

Moving into our mid-tier hotels, the Grand Hyatt is a great option for couples, families, and business travelers looking for a sophisticated modern hotel in the heart of downtown San Francisco. The hotel sits on Union Square, home to shops, restaurants, and entertainment, and it’s an easy walk to even more attractions. Not to mention, the rooms have amazing views of the city and bay.

#3 Hotel Fairmont

$$$

Not to be confused with The Fairmont Ghirardelli Square, Hotel Fairmont is considered ‘one of the best of the best’ of San Francisco. With views of the city and the bay from its location on Nob Hill, the hotel has a nice blend of luxury accommodations and friendly staff.

#4: Axiom Hotel

$$$

Sitting in the heart of Downtown, Axiom Hotel is a trendy fully remodeled hotel with modern finishes geared towards the younger traveler. With a great fitness facility, meeting rooms, shopping and dining nearby, and a friendly staff, the hotel has been widely popular with couples and younger business travelers in particular.

#5: Hotel Indigo

$$$

A beautiful modern hotel that opened just a few years ago, Hotel Indigo is a comfortable stay in a good location, just a few blocks from popular LA destinations, including LA Live. Take advantage of the numerous amenities and dining onsite, as well as the amazing views of the City.

#6: Staypineapple

$$

Don’t let the name fool you, this boutique hotel inside a historic 1913 building is a must-see. Fully renovated and modernized, The Staypineapple is a great spot for the budget-minded traveler still looking for a luxury experience in the heart of San Francisco.
